PROFESSIONAL BIO
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rose McLane and I am the Broker of TCB Commercial Real Estate Services in Shreveport, Louisiana.I am very blessed to have parents who have an entrepreneurial spirit and had the foresight to train me with “hands on” experience. While in high school, my parents became real estate investors and named me as their Manager. Little did I know, that becoming a Manager, also meant interpreting contracts, developing a knowledge of construction and becoming a troubleshooter who had to think “outside of the box.”
While managing for my parents, I sought employment with an investment company based in Southern California. Walker Investments owned and managed 900+ apartment units, retail and office. I joined them in January, 2000 as their Bookkeeper and within 6 months became their Asset Manager handling all their management operations, including a staff of 100+.
In 2001, Walker Investments sold their assets in California and began their acquisitions in the ArkLaTex and ultimately obtained approximately 1900 apartment units and one high rise office building.
In 2004, Walker Investments purchased approximately 1850 unit portfolio in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma which consisted of a $5.5 million dollar rehab. The portfolio’s average occupancy was 55% in 2004 and approximately 300 units were down due to fire damage, plumbing issues or roof leaks. With attractive move-in specials and giveaways, upgraded interiors and renovated exteriors, we increased occupancy to an average of 84% within 12 months. We were an integral part in launching the OKC Crime Free Housing program with cooperation with local law enforcement and community leaders. We successfully completed the rehab and disposed of all assets within a 19 month period.
Shortly after the disposition of the Oklahoma City portfolio, Walker Investments started their disposition process of the assets in the ArkLaTex and moved their operations to Atlanta, GA. At which time, my family and I decided to make Shreveport our home. I partnered with Richard W. Pool to open Cornerstone Commercial, a full service brokerage and management company. Unfortunately, a financial decision was made to part ways as the recession hit.
TCB Commercial was established in 2009 and took over the asset management division of Cornerstone Commercial. Today, TCB Commercial employs 29 employees in three states. We currently manage approximately 900 apartment units and over 17,000 SF in retail space.
